The decision follows an executive order signed by Trump that officially renamed the Great Lake within the United States. The lake sits between New York state and the Canadian province of Ontario and has long been known as Lake Ontario on maps around the world.
Apple had faced growing pressure to decide whether it would follow the federal order. Reports indicated that Trump personally encouraged the company to make the change.
