Vue, which runs more than 220 cinemas across eight European countries, selected PepsiCo as its exclusive supplier until at least 2030, following a competitive tender process last year. By comparison, Europe’s fastest high-speed services, such as France’s TGV and Italy’s Italo, operate at around 300–350km/h. The L0 Series will run on the new Chūō Shinkansen line and is expected to cut travel time between Tokyo and Nagoya to about 40 minutes, with a future extension to Osaka reducing Tokyo–Osaka journeys to roughly one hour. The project relies…

Most posts had financial links, often poorly disclosed. The study’s lead author, from the University of Copenhagen, said this creates a false sense of deficiency and fuels profitable but often unnecessary health interventions. Medical experts warned that routine testosterone testing…

Plants growing close together can alert one another to environmental stress, improving their chances of survival. In experiments with thale cress (Arabidopsis thaliana), scientists compared plants grown in isolation with those packed closely so their leaves touched. When exposed to intense light, isolated plants suffered severe damage, while crowded plants coped much better. Within an hour, densely grown plants activated more than 2,000 genes linked to protection against multiple stresses. Isolated plants showed little change in gene activity. The findings suggest that stressed plants send warning signals to nearby neighbours. The study identified hydrogen peroxide as the key signal, released…
