A drone fired from Yemen struck Eilat on Wednesday, wounding at least 22 people, medics reported.
The Israeli military confirmed air defences failed to intercept the drone along the Red Sea coast.
Magen David Adom said two victims suffered serious injuries while others received minor wounds.
Authorities Secure Crash Site
Police deployed bomb disposal experts to inspect the drone debris and possible explosives.
They instructed residents to avoid the site and follow Home Front Command safety guidelines.
Officials warned against touching any drone remnants that could remain dangerous.
Houthi Attacks Escalate Regional Tensions
Iran-backed Houthi rebels have fired drones and missiles at Israel since the Gaza conflict began.
They also targeted Red Sea shipping lanes, forcing companies like Maersk, MSC, and Hapag-Lloyd to reroute vessels.
Israel and the US retaliated with airstrikes in Yemen, killing Houthi leaders, including Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi.
The Houthis vowed revenge for al-Rahawi’s death and for the loss of nearly half their cabinet.
