Milo Yiannopoulos, the British commentator known for years of political controversy, was deported to the United Kingdom on Saturday, just one day after being arrested by U.S. immigration officials in New Orleans. Authorities said the action followed a final removal order issued by an immigration judge after Yiannopoulos failed to appear at a scheduled hearing.
Federal officials confirmed that Yiannopoulos was taken into custody at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Friday. According to immigration authorities, he did not attend a required immigration hearing in July. As a result, a judge issued a final order for his removal on July 22.
