Athletic footwear brands made a strong impression during this season’s men’s fashion week in Paris, using the global fashion event to showcase new products, connect with consumers, and strengthen their position in the growing lifestyle sneaker market.

While high temperatures dominated headlines throughout the week, another major talking point was the increasing presence of running and outdoor footwear companies. Many leading sportswear brands hosted product launches, exhibitions, tournaments, and exclusive events alongside the official fashion schedule.

Global brands including Adidas, Puma, ASICS, On, Saucony, Mizuno, Hoka, Salomon, and Vans all organized activities aimed at buyers, designers, media, and fashion enthusiasts.

Industry executives say Paris has become one of the most important places for athletic brands because it combines fashion, sport, and culture in one global event. The city allows companies to introduce new products while building stronger relationships with consumers who value both performance and style.

Saucony, which has been presenting collections in Paris for ten seasons, introduced its new ProGrid Ride 1 sneaker. The model draws inspiration from the brand’s early-2000s running designs while combining modern comfort and updated technology. The company also previewed several upcoming capsule collections and future collaborations planned for later releases.

ASICS hosted a multi-day table tennis tournament during fashion week as part of its community engagement activities. Company executives said Paris holds special importance because of the strong local support for the brand and its growing influence within the global sneaker community.

Several other companies also used the event to showcase upcoming collections and strengthen relationships with retailers and fashion professionals. The growing number of athletic brands participating reflects how performance footwear has become an important part of everyday fashion rather than remaining limited to sports.

Executives from Merrell said Paris Fashion Week offers a valuable opportunity to experience industry trends in person. They noted that bringing together brands from around the world creates meaningful conversations about design, innovation, and future consumer preferences.

Representatives from Brooks also described the event as an important meeting point where performance products and lifestyle fashion continue to move closer together. The company said observing consumers and industry trends during the week helps shape future product development and marketing strategies.

Beyond new product launches, one of the biggest topics throughout the week was the rising demand for premium running and outdoor footwear. Industry leaders said consumers are increasingly willing to pay more for shoes that combine advanced technology, greater comfort, and long-lasting quality.

Brooks executives said improvements in foam cushioning, upper materials, and overall comfort have encouraged buyers to choose higher-end footwear. As more people wear athletic shoes throughout the day instead of only during exercise, comfort has become a major factor influencing purchasing decisions.

ASICS shared a similar view, saying today’s consumers are making more thoughtful buying decisions. Rather than choosing products based only on appearance or price, many shoppers now focus on value, durability, and practical performance. This trend has continued to grow since the COVID-19 pandemic, when outdoor activities and everyday sneaker use became more common.

Saucony also pointed to technological innovation as an important reason behind the growth of premium footwear. The company said new materials, advanced foam technology, and improved shoe design are helping create better performance while supporting higher price points that many consumers now accept.

Merrell believes customers are also looking for products that reflect their personal identity and lifestyle. Company executives said many buyers want footwear that tells a story while offering flexibility for travel, outdoor activities, and daily life.

Fashion analysts say the increasing presence of athletic brands at major fashion events reflects broader changes in consumer preferences. Performance footwear is no longer viewed only as sports equipment but as an important part of modern fashion, blending comfort, innovation, and personal style.

As athletic companies continue investing in advanced materials, premium technologies, and cultural collaborations, industry observers expect demand for high-end running and outdoor shoes to remain strong. Paris Fashion Week has become one of the key global stages where brands introduce these innovations while shaping future trends in both sportswear and fashion.
