A Utah judge has ruled that the case against Tyler Robinson, the man accused of killing conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, can move forward to trial, marking a major development in one of the state’s most closely watched criminal cases.
Judge Tony Graf announced his decision after reviewing evidence presented during a preliminary hearing in Provo. The judge concluded that prosecutors had provided enough evidence to establish probable cause, allowing all charges against Robinson to proceed.
The ruling means Robinson will now face trial on seven separate charges related to the fatal shooting of Kirk. Moments after the decision was announced, the case moved directly into arraignment proceedings.
During the arraignment, defense attorney Kathryn Nester waived the formal reading of the charges and entered not guilty pleas on Robinson’s behalf. Robinson pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Judge Graf stated that the evidence, when viewed in the light most favorable to the prosecution, was sufficient at this stage of the legal process to support the allegation that Robinson was responsible for the shooting death of Kirk.

Robinson faces seven charges connected to the shooting. The most serious is aggravated murder, a first-degree felony. He is also charged with felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury.
Additional charges include two counts of obstruction of justice related to serious felony conduct, two counts of witness tampering, and one misdemeanor count alleging a violent offense committed in the presence of a child.
Prosecutors argued that the evidence presented during the hearing supported each of those charges. After reviewing testimony and evidence, Graf agreed that the legal threshold had been met.
